Ta Da!

I  finished  my small lap quilt today.. It measures 105 cm by 75cm. There are a few areas which could have been improved but I didn't see them until I had put it all together but all in all I am very pleased with the result so here it is..                                            Ta Da!!

I love how the colours come together.. So bright and fresh..

Love This Bag!!

Thought I'd try something a little different.. Well, what I should say is 'I thought I'd give making another bag a go' Lol... I have made a couple in the past and the best one went to my eldest grand daughter when she was attending university  and  because she loved it, I gave it to her.... Anyway, I saw this pattern while shopping, yes, at Esme's, I think it was the only one left and I really liked the look of it, bought it and gave it a go and here is the result.. And surprise, surprise.. I still like it.. Lol...  :)
Pattern, fabric and brass rings ready to go.

Just the straps left to make.

Trying to find the right spot for the flower.

Finished bag.

The front.

The back.
The flower has a pin glued to the back so it can be moved anywhere on the bag. Just the right size to take shopping.. Maybe for some more fabric? Lol..  Have a great day..  :)

Ready for Quilting!

Well, I have my small quilt ready for quilting. I used the fabric I bought earlier today to finish it and I found enough in my stash in the right shade to make the final border so guess what I'll be doing tomorrow!!

It's very bright and cheerful and I love it and can't wait for it to be finished..  :)

Jelly Roll Strips!

Put these together today ready for cutting into blocks.. Still haven't decided what to make but as they say 'the more the merrier'. They look so bright and pretty that it seems a shame not to make them into something worth while.  :)

Jelly Roll Square!

I have one square stitched and ready for the others when they are done from my jelly roll fabric. I am pleased so far with the way the colours have come together but I am
not sure what to make from them yet. There will be five squares when finished so if anyone has any suggestions as to what form they can take ie: table runner, lap quilt, anything,  please make a comment. I would really appreciate your thoughts..  :)

Afternoon Zig Zag Table Runner!

Today I started and finished a zig zag table runner demonstrated by Jenny Doan of Missouri Quilt Co. You can find the link to the video HERE  It is made from a charm pack given to me for Christmas by my friend Pat. The hardest part was organising the squares into a suitable pattern. I must admit, I made a few mistakes and had to go back to the video several times to work out what had gone wrong but I still finished it in an afternoon.

Baby Soft Washers!

My bff is going to be a grandmother once again and I so wanted to make  a small contribution. Knowing my friend Pat, there will be loads of crocheted and sewn bunny rugs, baby bibs, bootees etc. I found a lovely pattern on Ravelry called Oh So soft Baby Washcloths I really love this pattern, so easy to make. I used a 4 ply cotton with a 4.50 hook so I had to add more stitches to get the size right but I got the result I wanted, a nice sized washer for a baby. I plan to make 4 of different colours...  :)

Heirloom 4 ply pure cotton

Another washer on the way

The first two finished

I chose a different edging to that of the pattern which called for a crab stitch edging.

I have also started my first attempt at a twelve point afghan. I am quite happy with  the way it is coming out and with the colours. Still a lot more to do but it seems to have grown quickly to this point. The first yarn I chose didn't work out very well as it was too stiff so I bought some softer yarn that I think worked out much better.
